🛬 Air India Flight AI171 Crash Near Ahmedabad – What We Know So Far

A Boeing 787‑8 Dreamliner operating as Air India Flight AI171 from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick crashed during takeoff at approximately 1:38 PM IST, five minutes after departure. The aircraft hit a doctors' hostel in Meghani Nagar and burst into flames.

💀 Casualties

• Passengers onboard: 242 (230 pax + 12 crew)
• Confirmed deaths: ~294 including ground casualties
• Known survivor: Vishwash Kumar Ramesh (British national, seat 11A)

🔍 Investigation

The DGCA, AAIB, NTSB, and Boeing are investigating. The black boxes have been recovered. Weather was clear at the time of the incident. The aircraft involved was registered as VT-ANB.
